When the layout makes a difference
A special floor layout, countertops, facades, furniture and decorative panels is an intelligent resource to create attractive patterns and maximize the beauty of natural stones, making the aesthetics more harmonic.
A suitable flooring and matching can involve different patterns such as herringbone, checkerboard and horizontal, vertical or diagonal stripes. In this process, the same materials can be used throughout the space or even combined with other stones of different colors and textures.
In this kitchen at Casacor Paraná 2023, architect Karolinna Venturi designed an island with a “striped” print top. For this, she used the white marble Monte Vitta PR combined with the black granite São Gabriel. A current project that brings historically widely used pagination, but in a different and modern way.
Layout in Bookmatch
The layout process in Bookmatch (also known as 'Open Book') comes as a strong trend, as with it the veins and designs of the surfaces are united and connected, forming new figures from the natural marks of the stones themselves. The result of this union of two or more pairs of plates can be surprising.
Currently, with the help of software, marble workers, designers and architects can simulate patterns and combinations in Bookmatch before application, in order to evaluate the most suitable option for each environment.
Highlighted walls and panels
The choice of natural cladding for the ornamentation of decorative and prominent walls makes environments more elegant and sophisticated. In addition, durability, resistance and simple maintenance make architects and designers, attentive to market innovations, opt for natural stones.
Using the layout feature in Bookmatch, stone fragments, textured finishes or just the stone on large format plates, the environments gain even more charm and are valued for their living and natural beauty.
In this space, Brazilian Emerald Green quartzite was used as a TV panel in an apartment. The natural glow and colors of the stone ensured the feeling of freshness to the room. The project is signed by the office Ampezzan e Maciel Arquitetos.
Facades and external areas
With creativity and boldness, facades and external decorative panels can also be composed with natural stones applied outside the common pattern layout.
In this project, for example, Brazilian Blue Velvet quartzite was used in a grandiose panel on the facade of a house in São Paulo. The perfect marriage of matched plates welcomes visitors and residents of the residence.
In this other house, designed by architect Sérgio Palmeira, the Crystal Tiffany is the high point of the facade. The layout of the veins is a true piece of art in the main entrance of the modern residence.
Use in swimming pools
The choice of coating for swimming pools makes all the difference and can make the leisure experience pleasant and enjoyable. In this context, natural stones come in bringing resistance, durability and great beauty to external areas.
In this project, signed by the architect and designer Vivian Coser, the swimming pool of the residence was covered with Avocatus quartzite. In contact with water, the rock transforms and reveals surprising nuances.
In this project signed by the architect Priscilla Muller in conjunction with the Solo Arquitetos office, the pool of an inn located in the archipelago of Fernando de Noronha (PE) gained the unique beauty of the Brazilian quartzite Verde Botânico.
In this other project, Donatello and Raffaello marbles were chosen to cover the entire external area of the house, including the swimming pool. Signed by the architects Marilia Pellegrini and Milena Chieco, the modern and luxurious design is yet another example that ornamental stones are renewed and transformed with original and creative ideas.
Backlighted stones
The backlighting of stones that have translucent properties is also a trend in decoration and interior design. Brazil has a multitude of stones that can be applied with this resource.
